Disruption Awards 2020, applications now open.

After funding five successful projects in 2019 the Trustees are now looking for new ideas to support in 2020 with grants of up to £10,000.

DSDT stage one application form

This two-page form is for the first stage of application. The closing date for first stage applications is August 31, 2020, and those projects shortlisted to take part in the second stage will be informed by the middle of September. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUERIES ADDRESS THEM TO admin@dementiatrust.org.uk

Please note that this is not a research award.

You can find out more about the 2019 Disruption Award projects here.

The final decision about awards will be made at the December meeting of the Trustees and announced in the December Newsletter.  This year is different because the applications were opened in spring, and then we were delayed by the pandemic.  So if your application has already been received, you will be asked if you want to revise the application or leave it as it stands.

We are looking for unusual or novel ideas that will disrupt what people think about dementia.  The funding is not for research projects.  You may be an experienced dementia worker, or someone in another field with an exciting idea. If you outline your idea on the short form, the Trustees will tell you whether it has made it to the second phase, where you will be asked for a great deal more detail.  It is expected that the project would be completed within a six-month period.

The reporting for this project is light touch, but successful applicants will be asked to let the Trust know how they are getting on and to present at a celebration event at the end.  The projects will be presented on the Trust website.
