Rare Dementia Resources – a DSDT Disruption project
More people than ever know about dementia now, but if you’ve got an unusual set of symptoms to deal with, getting recognition from health and social care can be almost impossible.
The Rare Dementia Project by the charity Rare Dementia Support (https://www.raredementiasupport.org), was supported by DSDT to focus on producing high quality information and interviews about a range of rare forms of dementia.
The section funded by DSDT produced four of their interviews with experts about the rare dementias. Those films and much, much more are available on the website here: https://www.raredementiasupport.org/learning/conversations-with-experts/
The website offers a rich range of interviews of people with dementia and professional experts. These are helpful for people who are having difficulty in getting a diagnosis and post-diagnostic help because they have an atypical set of problems. If you are working in dementia care or diagnosis, this is an amazing resource!
