Painted Doors
Making simple changes, like painting the bathroom door a different colour so it contrasts clearly with the walls around it, can help a person with dementia be as independent as possible and make it easier for them to find their way around. The design guidance from the University of Stirling is really useful for illustrating the ways that you can make it easier for a person to be independent, and to avoid unfortunate problems, like incontinence, which is more likely if the toilet is hard to find.
